I'm a Nintendo speedrunner who focuses primarily on retro games. I'm live Sun-Thu around 6:30PM!
I'm Picante, a speedrunner and Nintendo fan. I grew up around Nintendo, especially Mario, and to no surprise this has heavily influenced my gaming/streaming habits. I'm a huge fan of retro games, having played nearly exclusively SNES games since I started streaming. I've been on a somewhat endless pursuit to be what I deem good at Mario my entire life.
A huge influence in my decisions in life is the philosophy to go big or go home, which I try to emulate in my streaming. I constantly try to prove myself as a good speedrunner by committing fully to the grind. Hundreds of hours into playing Mario later we're still going strong.
With that said, I do dabble in other genres from time to time. I used to be heavily involved in the rhythm game communities and own a few arcade machines which I sometimes stream. I'm not opposed to going more modern with what I play occasionally.
I work full time, but that doesn't stop me. I'm usually live Sunday to Thursday at roughly 6:30PM and aim for at least 4 hours a night of streaming.
I started streaming in 2015 under the name SpicySNES, due to my love of spicy food and my love of the SNES console (big surprise). Despite the latter, I actually started as a Mario Maker streamer before getting sick of it in late 2015 and going back to retro games, which has been my goto for most of my life. I fell in love with speedrunning and haven't looked back since.
Outside of Twitch, I'm in my mid-twenties and am a programmer by trade, specifically working as a cyber security engineer. My technical nature blends into my stream as I've piled on the hardware and software used in the endless pursuit of technical perfection/stream quality in OBS. I love to help people with this kind of stuff too!
Fun fact: I speak Chinese and have lived there a few times for work. I'm a little embarassed about how bad it has gotten since moving back to the us though ;-;.
I want to be the best at whatever I speedrun. It's an audacious and almost unobtainable goal, but not necessarily impossible. The grind is life.
If it has the word Mario in it and it's on the SNES, it's probably up there. This includes even the lesser known such as the Mario educational games, but I primarily focus on those found in Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario World.
None that is public.
Because it is something I am semi-good at and it keeps food on my plate.
Making chats suck less.
I like collecting green boxes with swords in them.
Getting entertained every day.
